Saved games

History Atlas uses an essential anonymous cookie to associate this browser with saved guesses, scores, and streaks. The cookie lasts up to one year. Game records are stored with Cloudflare Workers and D1. The game does not require your name, email address, or physical location. Clearing the cookie disconnects the browser from its saved record; it does not delete the server-side record.

Public sharing

Creating a score link publishes the challenge date, score, and colored result tiles. Anyone with the link can view those results. The public link does not grant access to the player's browser identity or saved progress. Shared records remain stored until removed by the site operator.

Map and hosting requests

Your browser requests map imagery and labels from Esri. Cloudflare hosts the site. These providers receive network information, such as an IP address, when delivering their services. Server access logs may contain request information. History Atlas does not ask the browser for GPS permission.

Advertising status

Advertising is currently disabled. The site includes a Google AdSense publisher-verification identifier and an ads.txt file; these do not themselves display ads. If advertising is enabled later, this notice and any required consent controls must be updated before ad requests begin. Game loading screens, welcome screens, errors, and score-only sharing pages are not intended as advertising placements.

Use of the game

The game is free educational entertainment. Scores have no monetary value, and there are no entry fees or prizes. Historical summaries are concise and may be corrected. Source links provide fuller context. Availability and content may change.
